Many residents will have seen in the Spring edition of the Village Voice, and also from the monthly Village Council meetings, that the appropriate licence has been granted from Essex County Council to proceed with the installation of CCTV by the shops at South Green. The Village Council is currently in the process of finalising agreements with other parties to ensure it meets legal formalities and hoping to progress in the not to distant future.
It has been a complex process, but the Village Council is looking forward to the installation and the extra security for residents that CCTV will provide, which will cover the area of the shops and surroundings. The cameras will be blocked from viewing private residences and the police will have access to the system, should it be required.
